Where in the World is Cafe Cito? Print this page and show it to your driver or guide:

Café Cito is located on the main highway in walking distance 1/4 mile west of Playa Dorada's main gate, 1/4 mile east of Iberostar and the Hilton Coral Marien. Tel. 586-7923

Do you have a Spanish speaking guide or driver? Show him this...

Cómo llegar a Cafe Cito:
En la Carretera Luperón, Plaza Isabela, en el antiguo Rum Runners Bar, al lado de Avis Rent Car y Joyeria Harrision, a 1/2 km al oeste de Playa Dorada.

Coming by car or on foot….
If you are depending on a Spanish speaking driver or guide, the map and Spanish instructions in red will be sufficient for him to find Café Cito. It will only be someone whose "brother (friend, sister, mother'in'law, etc) has a better restaurant" who might say they can’t find Café Cito.
If you are walking or driving, you'll find us on th e Puerto Plata - Sosua highway located just a 1/2 kilometer west of Playa Dorada and 1/2 kilometer east of Iberostar, right next to Avis Rent-a-Car. It's actually a nice walk from any of the Playa Dorada or Costa Dorada Resorts.
If you are coming by taxi from a nearby resort be prepared for the taxi driver’s attempt to offer you two way service with a two hour waiting time. He wants to "pre-sell" the return trip. This is fine if it makes you comfortable to know your driver will be there for you, but we recommend you take the taxi one way only, and we will make sure you have a safe taxi to go back. It is understandable that you want to feel safe in a strange land, but keep in mind that Cafe Cito is owned and operated by a Canadian guy who could have been your next door neighbor. Once you are here you will feel comfortable and at home, so much so that you just might want to stay for three or four hours. This happens all the time. But if after two hours your driver is pawing and shuffling for you to get going you may feel obligated and sorry that you have to cut short your good time.  Also, be prepared for the possibility that the taxi driver says that he doesn’t know where we are, or that we are closed that day or that we are in a bad neighborhood, or that he has a brother in law with a much better restaurant. Any of these excuses may be motivated by the fact that I don’t believe I should have to increase my prices just to paya commission o a driver, who is getting paid for driving, just so that he will be willing to endorse my place or be otherwise willing to take paying passengers to where they want to go. With the instructions above, anybody can get here. Bottom line… talk to your driver before you get in his car, and if there is any uncertainty, call us at 586-7923, ask for Tim or Maria, and we will help.
See you soon at Cafe Cito!
